CSDF is a well established name in the Romanian non-profit sector.

Civil Society Development Foundation is a nongovernmental, independent,  non-profit organization founded in  1994, with support from the European Commission.

CSDF supports the development of the civil society organizations. CSDF is actively involved at both national and European level in the public dialogue between civil society and authorities, and between national and international organizations.

Based on the diverse development needs in the Romanian non-profit sector, CSDF assumed from the very beginning, in 1994, a variety of roles as a civil society member:

·                     national resource center,

·                     research center for the non-profit sector,

·                     promoter of the sector,

·                    grant-management and provision of technical assistance for the European funded programs of the NGO sector.
