The Civic Innovation Fund (CIF) is a programme developed by FDSC. It aims at supporting innovative civic initiatives and actions of NGOs in Romania, accountability and active participation of citizens so as to contribute to the development of the community.
The Institute of Social Economy (IES) is a program of FDSC initiated and developed within the project "PROMETEUS - Promoting social economy in Romania through research, education and training at European standards".
ONGFest – the Romanian National Fair of Non-Governmental Organisations is the most important outdoor event of the Romanian civil society. Its aim is to increase the number of citizens actively engaged in the community, to develop the associative culture and to enhance Romanian NGOs’ involvement in the society.

The 1st edition of the Civil Society Forum in Central and Eastern Europe took place in Bucharest between 27-28 November 2014. The event was organized by FDSC in the framework of the NGO Fund Programme in Romania. Over 250 representatives of civil society organisations from 18 countries sent a powerful signal to European institutions and governments concerning the deterioration of democracy and rule of law in Europe.
With human rights education as this year's theme, TEDxCaleaVictorieiED 2014 took place on the 7th of October in Bucharest. The NGO Fund was one of the supporters of this edition as defending human rights and combating hate speech are among its strategic priorities. Through tackling public policies and sharing best practices and personal experiences, each of the 9 speeches brought inspiration and motivation to the 100 participants.
FDSC has launched on the 16th of September the 17th edition of the CSO Sustainability Index for Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia. According to it, the sustainability of CSOs in Romania was affected by a series of setbacks in 2013, including increased government pressure on watchdog CSOs and more negative media coverage of civil society’s activities.
Civic Arena, a new magazine focusing on the non-profit sector in Europe, with a particular attention to Central and Eastern European countries, has been launched by FDSC in June 2014. The first issue is dedicated to Hate Speech in the context of rising extremism, populism, racism and xenophobia across Europe.
